The PS-28 Cruiser is Type Certified according to EASA CS-LSA regulation and can be fully commercially operated in all EASA countries as well as in other countries accepting EASA type certificate.
The PS-28 Cruiser was the first ever light aircraft that obtained the EASA type certificate in the newly created category of Light Sport Aircraft in April 2012.

Over 75 PS-28 Cruiser aircraft are quite intensively utilized by more than 20 flight training organizations across Europe both for basic and advanced flight training as well as for time building.

Excellent flight characteristics, robust and highly durable airframe structure enabling operation also from unpaved grass airfields predetermine the PS 28 Cruiser for being easily and effectively flown by students – beginners and thus make it the best aviation tool for the basic and advanced flight training.

The excellent flight characteristics of the aircraft and its robust construction are perfectly suited to entry-level students and this makes the PS-28 Cruiser the ideal platform for training purposes. Due to the highest standards of safety, superior performance, easy maintenance and low through-life operating costs the PS-28 Cruiser has quickly established itself as the new benchmark for flight training throughout Europe.

The current production activity of Czech Sport Aircraft comprises the PS-28 Cruiser and the SportCruiser Light Sport Aircraft. Both types are double-seat aircraft of full metal construction, arranged as low wing mono-planes with cantilevered wings and conventional empennage. The PS- 28 Cruiser and SportCruiser are essentially differentiated in terms of certification and thus market application. Almost 600 units of PS-28 Cruiser and SportCruiser have been already produced and delivered to customers in more than 30 countries all around the world. The PS-28 Cruiser is type certified by EASA for VFR Day operations according to the CS LSA regulation and can be fully commercially operated in all EASA countries as well as in other countries accepting EASA certification or where the PS-28 Cruiser has been certified by local CAA. The aircraft serves as a perfect platform for basic and advanced flight training, air clubs, basic military pilot training, general recreational use and air tourism.

DESIGN OVERVIEW

BASIC DESCRIPTION

The PS-28 Cruiser is a double-seat, all-metal aircraft, arranged as a low-wing monoplane with cantilevered wings and conventional empennage.
The aircraft has a tricycle fixed landing gear of nose type.
The aircraft is type certified by EASA according to CS-LSA regulation and is approved for operation within Europe and other countries in the LSA category.

WING

The wings are of all-metal main spar structure with a rear spar. Each of the two wings is attached to the center section fuselage by means of 6 shear bolts. Fuel tank is located in each wing with a capacity of 57 litres. Unique lockable storage compartment is located in each wing with a load capacity of 10kg each.
The wing tips are made from carbon-glass composite. Both wings are equipped with electrically controlled flaps and ailerons. The right aileron is fitted also with electrical trim.
Position and strobe lights are installed in the wing tips.

TAIL UNIT

The aircraft tail unit consists of the vertical fin, the rudder, the horizontal stabilizer and the elevator with trim tabs. The elevator is well balanced by the electrically controlled trim of the elevator. The elevator is equipped also with a balance tab for aircraft better controllability and balance of the control forces.

FUSELAGE

The fuselage is designed as a semi monocoque conventional all-metal structure. The cockpit fixed frame and the movable frame are made from a composite. The main undercarriage is attached directly to the bottom part of the fuselage. The nose landing gear is attached to the firewall.

POWER SUPPLY

The aircraft is powered by 12V electrical network.

COCKPIT

The PS-28 Cruiser boasts the most spacious and ergonomic cockpit in the Light Sport Aircraft category. The cockpit has front-up-opened cover and two side sliding windows. All windows are made from Plexiglass. Located to the rear of the pilot seats is a spacious baggage compartment.

The cockpit is equipped with an instrument panel holding all instruments in 3 separate panels. Individual control sticks and pedals provide the flight controls for both seats. The throttle is positioned on the centre console and the wheel brakes are located on the pedals.
